Tomato Wine Sauce

    In a large skillet, saute the onion and garlic in oil over a medium-high heat until the onion is tender

    Add the remaining ingredients to the skillet, and stir

  • 3

    Reduce heat, and simmer for 15 to 20 minutes, or until the mixture is heated through

    Be careful not to overcook

  • 5

    Toss with pasta and serve

  • 6

    Serves 4.

Tomato Wine Sauce

ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 medium-sized onion, chopped
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 8 medium tomatoes, seeded and cubed
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried basil
  • 1/3 cup red wine
  • 3/4 cup beef broth
  • 1 tablespoon wine vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon pepper
